Drive Space Critical on “Your server here”

Drive Critical: /dev/sdb6 (/tmp) is 91% full

I get this everyday just about, because a few sites I host get a lot of traffic and eaccelerator tends to eat this up.

There has to be an automatic way to do this , but for now this is how I have been doing it. Its a bit tedious, but it only takes about a minute.

First you need a Telnet/SSH client which you can get Putty Here
http://ftp.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

After you have that once you open it up you will see below.

Enter your server Ip address. You can also save your settings so you don’t have to enter the ip address every time.  So for now enter your ip address and hit enter.

Next You Will Be Asked To login -
Login as Root, enter your password.
You will then change to the Temp Directory using cd /tmp
You will now enter the command to delete eaccelerator which is rm -rfv eaccelerator
Hit Enter and it will go bye bye!

After that you should see something similiar below.

That’s about it! There has to be away to set this up automatically and when I figure it out I will post back.
